IslandFamilies is a Guernsey based online community which helps local families by providing access to offers and discounts from many different local businesses. It also provides information for families including advice and resources on various topics, as well as acting as a hub for local, family-friendly events.
After the transition of the organisation from IslandMums to IslandFamilies, we were contacted to help design a new look for the website and assist with the development of its reach to help families take full advantage of local facilities, events and offers available. This was achieved by making the website experience easier for both users and contributors. Users have more search and filter options on offers and events, as well as a general search function to locate information with greater ease. The site includes a blog and an articles section which are set out in ‘blocks’ to ensure a visitor can identify a topic of interest quickly and easily.
We also ensured that the communication between contributors and the IslandFamilies team is smoother by adding more contact forms so that events can be directly submitted to and then published on the website, and that businesses can sign up to the site and claim their free card.
